1 - Wounds

Theme for the Day

Creating with herbs to support wound healing in animals.

Overview of Topics

Minor wounds are common in our animal companions and present a great opportunity to create with Nature. Explore the nature of wounds and discover how herbs can support wound healing. In the theory sessions we cover the relevant herbal concepts and their application to the healing of wounds in animals. Practical sessions allow us to experience the qualities of wound-healing herbs and create a variety of first-aid herbal preparations. We explore selecting, preparing and using herbs in the applied sessions, focusing on minor wounds common in animals.

Learning Outcomes

Deeper understanding of the nature of wounds and wound healing.
Greater appreciation of beneficial herbs and their usefulness in supporting wound healing.
Knowledge and skills to create first-aid, herbal wound healing preparations.

2 - Digestion

Theme for the Day

In the theory sections we cover the relevant herbal concepts and their application to digestive wellbeing in animals. Practical sessions allow us to experience the qualities of digestive herbs and create a variety of herbal preparations. We explore selecting, preparing and using herbs in the applied sections to help care for a range of minor digestive upsets common in animals.

5 - Behavior

Theme for the Day

In the theory sections we cover the relevant herbal concepts and their application to psychological wellbeing in animals. Practical sessions allow us to experience the qualities of psychotropic herbs and create a variety of herbal preparations. We explore selecting, preparing and using herbs in the applied sections, focusing on a range of minor behavioural and psychosomatic problems common in animals.

Deeper understanding of the nature of mind and psychological wellbeing.
Appreciation of beneficial herbs and their usefulness in supporting happy, healthy behaviour.
Knowledge and skills to create herbal preparations for mental and emotional wellbeing.

Facilitators

Dr Jimmy Symmonds BSc BVSc

Jimmy is a veterinarian with further training in herbal medicine for animals. He encourages a natural, common-sense approach to health and wellbeing – a synthesis of modern science and ancient wisdom, grounded in an awareness of our true nature. Jimmy will be joined by various local specialists and co-facilitators during the workshop series.
